Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen has stated that work on the final touches for the Addu Tertiary Hospital is currently ongoing.
The minister made the statement in response to MP for South Hithadhoo, Ibrahim Nazil who asked for clarification on the opening date of the hospital.
The minister added that the hospital is currently equipped with the necessary instruments and that a majority of staff have also been hired.
According to the latest update I have received, installation is in its final stage. Therefore, instead of naming a specific date, I can tell you that the hospital is currently undergoing its finishing touches by the ministry's specialized team. hopefully, we can have a team stationed there to continue our work by next week.Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen
The 100-bed hospital is the first tertiary hospital to be established outside of Male' or Hulhumale'.
The construction was assigned to Alia Construction (Pvt) Ltd on 14th November 2016 during former President Yaameen's regime.
