41 accidents reported in Malé last week
Police released it statistics from 19-25 October on Sunday

There were fewer road accidents in the capital last week, compared to the previous week.

Police released it statistics from 19-25 October on Sunday, which shows that there was a total of 41 road accidents in the week. There were 44 accident recorded the previous week.

There were 11 accident-related injuries last week.

Furthermore, police checked a total of 819 vehicles in the week, and issued 763 parking violation stickers. 48 vehicles were towed for illegal parking, which is 82 less than the previous week.

olice said that 111 individuals were caught without a license and that 53 did not have the license card with them when checked by officers. In addition, 35 individuals were driving without valid insurance and road worthiness and that 23 had failed to pay annual fee, while 20 vehicles were stopped for traffic violations and three for over speeding.

The statistics also show that 11 individuals were counseled for driving without a helmet, seven less than the previous week.
