Officers of the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF)’s Northern Area Fire Station have quelled a fire in Kulhudhuffushi island of Haa Dhaal atoll.

The fire originated inside a local residence, Kakaage, and was reported at 04:16am following which fire fighters were dispatched immediately.

It was extinguished around 04:40am, revealed officers,

After the fire was doused, officers had worked to extract the dense smoke from the house.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The house had however been severely damaged and a motorcycle in front of the house had also burned beyond use.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has since launched investigations into the case.
