While raising and educating children, mothers need to exercise environment-friendly methods, says First Lady Fazna Ahmed.

In her speech at the inauguration ceremony of “MOMS Expo 2019”, First Lady Fazna stated that every single individual must play a role in the work to protect the environment and that mothers must set examples for their children by avoiding and preventing wastage.

Emphasizing the importance of empowering women, the First Lady noted the significant role “MOMS” – a local NGO - plays in caring for and helping mothers, expectant mothers and those who plan on motherhood, especially those who were subject to domestic violence.

At the event, First Lady Fazna also inaugurated the "Family-to-Family Fund”.

A two-day exhibition focused on leading women entrepreneurs, MOMS Expo is the being held in Billabong International School and is an initiative by local NGO, “MOMS”.

It is the largest platform for women and mother entrepreneurs in the Maldives, seeking to empower female entrepreneurs, and allows female entrepreneurs to showcase their business and connect, inspire and receive guidance from the society.

The expo is to be held on 4th to 5th October and is the only one of its kind.
