The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has ended the week-long leave it gave to expectant mothers in civil employment.

Employees expecting a child were given leave last Thursday, given the reported H1N1 outbreak in the country.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) had said in its circular given pregnant women’s susceptibility to the strain, said employees would be given leave - initially said to be ‘indefinite’ - with salaries and benefits.

CSC had then urged said employees to work from home and assist their colleagues in the office in every way they can while on leave.

Other state institutions had also granted leave employees who are more susceptible to influenza.
