The National Bureau of Statistics is to commence their Household Income & Expenditure Survey on 28 September.
The survey is carried out once in every five years and is conducted across the entire country.
The bureau is set to begin in capital city Malé and they are currently working to list down the regions to conduct the survey.
The survey will commence in outlying atolls from 4 October onwards.
It will be carried out from September through to November, revealed the bureau.
Surveys will be done in a total of 1,080 households and a total of 4,760 households will assessed in outlying atolls.
Officials who will be active in carrying out the surveys will visit homes and the bureau will ensure they have identification and relevant documents on them.
Times set for conducting the surveys are from 9am to 6pm.
The bureau further revealed that information collected through the surveys will remain confidential and the government aims to conduct the them in full transparency.
The public have been urged to cooperate in the bureau’s work as it is national work for which the government has allocated hefty budgets.
