The Job Fair is to be held in Farukolhufushi on 27 September, annually celebrated as World Tourism Day,

Speaking to press regarding the fair, Minister Ali Waheed revealed that the ministry hopes this will be the most successful Job Fair to be hosted so far in the Maldives.

Major tourist groups will be participating in the fair, which will provide 500 employment opportunities for the seeking to join the industry, revealed Waheed.

Further, 10 fully-funded scholarship opportunities are to be provided through this platform, which will also pave way for internship opportunities.

The fair is specialized for Maldivian participants only, revealed the minister.

Skills of local bands will be featured during the event, which will focus on providing a platform for local talents to showcase their skills through performances.

In addition, presentations have also been scheduled for 10pm to showcase the life style and achievements of exceptional resort staff during the event.

The first presentation will be honored for Vice President Faisal Naseem, who worked in the field 27 years ago.

Highlighting that the fair provides a golden opportunity for those interested, Waheed revealed that the fair will kick off at 8pm on Friday and participants may use the free transportation, via speedboats that will be scheduled every 30 minutes.
