The foundation has been laid for the new powerhouse in Bilehdhoo of Faafu atoll.
Fenaka Corporation Managing Director Ahmed Saeed laid the foundation at a special ceremony held on Friday morning.
Bilehdhoo MP Ahmed Haleem and island residents also attended the ceremony.
The utilities company has stated that it working on 30 powerhouse installation projects in the country, with the 17th project being in Bilehdhoo.
