Expat teacher arrested for attempted sexual assault

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested an expatriate teacher for attempting sexual assault against one of his female students.

Although unconfirmed, RaajjeMV understands that the arrest was made in southernmost Addu City on Sunday.

Police revealed that they received the reports of the teacher locking himself inside a room with the student on Sunday, however, further details have not been revealed yet.

MPS confirmed that they are looking into the case.

Sources have cited that the residents of Hithadhoo district had stopped the man, accused of attempting sexual abuse against the student.
