Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has met with several high-level officials who arrived in Maldives to participate in the Indian Ocean Conference 2019.

Secretary General of Oman, Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, Russian Ambassador Yuri B Materiy and Foreign Minister of Nepal Pradeep Kumar Gyawali paid separate courtesy calls on FM Shahid on Monday.

Following the meeting with SG of Oman, FM Shahid expressed his eagerness to work closely with the newly appointed new non-resident Ambassador to Oman to enhance the bilateral ties between both nations in the future.

Taking to Twitter following the call by Russian Ambassador, FM Shahid stated that the cooperation between Russia and Maldives has been enhanced following his trip there in June. He noted that Maldivians may enjoy visa-free travel to Russia and that he looks forward to “greater collaboration” in the future.

While all three meetings took place in Kurumba Maldives, FM Shahid had after the meeting with FM Gyawali, expressed his hope to strengthen the ties between both countries in the days ahead.
