The Ukulhas Convention Center has been opened for the Ukulhas Tech Fair.
The convention center was officially opened by Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid and Indian Ambassador Sanjay Sudhir.
After opening the convention center, the two dignitaries joined the opening of the Ukulhas Tech Fair, the 13th International Conference on Software, Knowledge, Information Management & Applications, and the International Workshop on Applied Artificial Intelligence Workshop.
India had provided MVR 7 million of the MVR 17 million in free aid to help build the Ukulhas Convention Center, which was built by Ameen Construction in 25 days. This is the second convention center to be established in Maldives, the first being the Addu City Convention Center.
More than 25 participants are showcasing the latest technological developments at the Ukulhas Tech Fair, being held from August 26 - 28, 11am to 9pm.
The purpose of Ukulhas Tech Fair is to showcase technologies and developments by researchers and practitioners working in the field of computer science and technology and allow the exchange of ideas and the latest developments in tech.
Ukulhas has put up banners and flags to welcome government officials and scientists visiting the island.
