Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdullah Nawaz has been transferred to Police Command Center from his position as head of Crime Investigation Command.

No reason has been made public by the Maldives Police Service (MPS) for his transfer.

Nawaz was appointed as ACP on June 29, 2015. At the time of his transfer he was heading the investigation into the murder of social media activist and blogger Yameen Rasheed.
