Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested a man for attempting to rob a parked car in the Industrial Zone in capital city Malé.

Police media official revealed that officers patrolling the area arrested the 34-year-old at around 02:31am on Saturday and that he was immediately brought under police custody.

He got inside the taxi after pulling off the back-door’s windowpane, revealed police.

Officers found a screwdriver and a sharp weapon on him upon searching him.

Police is further investigating the case.
