39-year-old Seema Moosa is being treated at the Mina Al Wadi Hospital in Mecca

The Maldivian Hajj pilgrim who fell into a coma earlier this week has still not regained consciousness.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, Hajj Corporation Chairman Mohamed Kinaanath said that 39-year-old Seema Moosa is being treated at the Mina Al Wadi Hospital in Mecca.

He earlier said that she was in Mina when she felt dizziness and later fell unconscious after vomiting in a toilet.

He said she was taken to a neurologist and underwent a CT scan, and that doctors had said that she had suffered a stroke and internal bleeding. She is currently on ventilator support in the ICU.

He said she did not have any illnesses, except diabetes, and cited doctors saying that she is now brain dead.

RaajjeMV understands that she had gone to Hajj with her husband.

Maldives received a quota of 2,000 for this year’s Hajj and 1,100 pilgrims had travelled under the care of Hajj Corporation.
