President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Planning Minister Mohamed Aslam as the in-charge of Maldivian pilgrims this year.
The President’s Office announced this on Wednesday.
Six agencies have been authorized to carry pilgrims from Maldives to Mecca this year; they are Maldives Hajj Corporation, Zaee Group, Tazkiya, Al Hajj & Umrah Group, Mina Hajj & Umrah, and Acro Hajj and Umrah.
Saudi Arabia has given Maldives a quota of 2,000 pilgrims this year.
A Maldives Hajj Mission was opened in Mecca earlier this month.
