Maldives Police Service has on Sunday arrested a police officer accused of sexually assaulting two minors.
Police media official revealed that the Criminal Court has remanded the officer by 15 days.
While the first case against him was reported to the police in October 2018, another case was lodged on 27 March.
However, police were unable to bring him under their custody as he was out of the country, both times.
The man is accused of sexually assaulting minors in both cases.
Further, police revealed that their Family and Child Protection Department and Professional Standards Command are actively investigating the case.
