The national development plan will be publicized in less than two months, says Planning Minister Mohamed Aslam.
The minister gave this assurance after being presented to Wednesday’s parliament sitting.
Aslam said that they have completed a "first draft" of the development plan, adding that they are working with all institutions in doing so.
He further said that the cabinet is currently discussing on a “special” development plan.
“We expect to publicize the national development plan within a month and a half”Minister Aslam
However, he emphasized that there could be changes to the plan even after that, adding that public comments will be taken into account.
Back in December, Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer announced that the current administration has begun drafting a master plan for national development. He said this during a budget committee meeting.
While he noted that the nation-wide infrastructure priority includes all islands, the project was to be completed in six months.
