JSC decides to suspend Magistrate Raagib

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to suspend Kaafu atoll judicial sector’s chief Magistrate Mohamed Raagib over a disciplinary complaint.
At a press conference on Monday, JSC’s Director Zaheen said that having Magistrate Raagib attend to his duties would obstruct their investigation.
JSC will consider lifting the suspension after they conclude the investigation, compile the report, and allow him to respond to the allegations, Zaheen said, adding that they have requested the police service to investigate the criminal aspect of the allegations.
Zaheen also said that JSC began investigating issues regarding K Thulusdhoo Magistrate Ainan Ali Mohamed, which surfaced during the investigation of Magistrate Raagib.
He said that JSC has taken statements from numerous witnesses in Magistrate Raagib’s case.
