Police confirmed this on Monday afternoon, but did not disclose on when he was found.
Shaim was under state care, when hewent missingon June 18.
While Gender Minister Shidhatha Shareef has since revealed sensitive details in the case, it was met with outrage and she was summoned to the parliament committee on human rights and gender last week. However, the meeting was held behind closed doors, to ensure the 14-year-old's rights are protected.
The minister assured that all resources were being used in the search for Shaim, whose case was first brought to the ministry’s attention in 2009.
Responding to a tweet, Police Commissioner Mohamed Hameed said that Shaim was found inside a house in the capital.
