Singapore has held a colourful ceremony, to honour and officially welcome President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed.
The state welcoming ceremony was held at the Istana, the official residence of the President of Singapore, with President Halimah Yacob and First Gentleman Mohamed Abdulla Alhabshee receiving them.
The national anthems of both countries were played when President Solih and President Halimah stepped on the saluting dais. President Solih was also given a Guard of Honour, and had signed the visitors' book at President Halimah's office.

President Solih and delegation met the Maldivians living in Singapore on Sunday, and discussed their concerns and experiences.
This is the president's first official visit to the southeastern nation, since taking office in November 2018.
