President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have arrived in Singapore for their state visit.

They were received at the VIP Complex of Changi Airport by Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Defense Maliki Osman.

During the visit, President Solih will meet President of Singapore Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and discuss further strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

President Solih will also meet members of the Maldivian community in Singapore to hear their concerns and experiences, and enquire as to how the Maldivian Government can be of assistance.

The President will also tour Pulau Semakau, an offshore landfill managed by Singapore’s National Environment Agency, and Singapore’s ISD Counter-terrorism center, to learn from Singapore’s experiences and expertise in waste management and security.
