The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has on Thursday handed over the housing units completed in Fuvahmulah City under a development projects being carried out in the island.

Minister of Housing, Aminath Athifa handed over the keys to 200 housing units at a special ceremony held in Fuvahmulah City on Thursday.

While 200 out of the 1,500 housing units have been completed, these housing units are being constructed by a Chinese company, China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) as an assistance from China to the government of Maldives.

During her visit to Fuvahmulah, Minister Athifa, accompanied by Deputy Minister Khalid, also met with the city council to hold discussions regarding further development for the fast-growing city.

They also visited the sites where the housing units are being developed to plan the necessary changes and further developments.
