Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced its decision to carry out the development projects that have been tasked to them by the government, after redesigning them.

MTCC revealed that they reached the decision after assessing their previous experiences and with the aim to better their development projects.

The company is currently in discussions with the Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure to bring the required changes and re-design the projects blueprints.

The changes will be brought to projects to be undertaken in Hanimaadhoo, Haa Dhaal, Ungoofaaru, Eydhafushi, Dharavandhoo, Baa, Hulhumeedhoo, Seenu, Fonadhoo, Laamu and Fuvahmulah City.

As such, MTCC is set to develop 18 roads in Hanimaadhoo, 15 roads in Ungoofaaru, 17 in Eydhafushi, 12 in Dharavandhoo, one in Hulhumeedhoo, 12 main roads in Fonadhoo and the ring road in Fuvahmulah City.

The main changes that have been brought to the projects is to use concrete foundations as a base instead of cement and sand.

MTCC has thus far this year been tasked with seven road development projects.
