A 40-year-old man was found dead in Gan island, in Laamu atoll, on Tuesday.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) said that that it received the report at around 12:45pm, adding that he was found inside the room he was renting in the island.
However, police said that no foul play was suspected upon initial observation.
The man was holidaying in the island.
Police continue to investigate the case.
