Guraidhoo MP Ibrahim Riza has taken his oath of office.
The swearing-in ceremony was held on Monday at the parliament.
Speaker Mohamed Nasheed was present at the ceremony, at which MP Riza was sworn in by Chief Justice Ahmed Abdulla Didi.
MP Riza was unable to join the swearing-in ceremony of the 19th parliament as he was in Mecca on a pilgrimage trip.
Riza is a member of opposition Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and had, in his previous term, served as a member of the Judicial Service Commission.
