Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested a man for robbing a disabled person in Thimarafushi island of Thaa atoll.
Upon receiving the report of the robbery at dawn on Thursday, police officers stationed in the island had conducted an operation following which they confiscated the stolen cash.
They had arrested the individual who was involved in the robbery and handed the cash back to the person.
Police are yet to reveal further details about the robber, however, RaajjeMV understands that they have taken on investigations into the case.
The amount confiscated totals MVR 2,785.
Theft and robbery cases have been on the rise of late, with recent cases seeing the burglary of over MVR 100,000 from an outlying island and MVR 60,000 from the capital city last week.
