Officers attacked after responding to fight

Officers that responded to a violence case in the capital city on Wednesday, were attacked.
Police’s media officer, Chief Inspector Izmia Zahir said that the incident occurred at around 4:15pm, while the officers were responding to an fight on Shaheed Ali Goalhi, in the Maafannu ward of Malé City.
Three men were apprehended from the scene; an 18-year-old and two 22-year-olds.
While one of the men is to have assaulted the officers, police did not reveal any further details in the case.
Furthermore, Inspector Izmia noted that all three are suspected of being under the influence of drugs.
One individual was injured in the attack and treated at the hospital, but police said that he did not sustain any serious injuries.
