Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has met a number of his counterparts from other nations, on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Corporation (OIC) Summit.

Minister Shahid met with Foreign Minister of State of Palestine Riyad Al-Maliki and assured that Maldives will stand by the people of Palestine and support their right to self-determination.

Minister Shahid also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, and discussed ways in further strengthening the two countries’ bilateral relationship.

Foreign Minister Shahid met with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the UAE and discussed ongoing bilateral and multilateral cooperation and further strengthening ties between the two countries.

He also met the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Morocco and discussed avenues for cooperation areas of mutual interest.

He met with Foreign Minister of Djibouti Mahamoud Ali Youssouf and explored avenues of further cooperation in promoting the interests of small states on multilateral forums.

Minister Shahid also met Foreign Minister of Senegal Amadou Ba and discussed steps to enhance the bilateral relationship and multilateral engagement.
