The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has on Tuesday signed with local pilgrimage groups.

The ministry revealed that a total of six companies are eligible to carry out pilgrimage operations for this year.

Alongside state-operated Hajj Corporation, five other pilgrimage groups are eligible to carry out pilgrimage operations this year.

The prices set by the companies:

• MVR 69،965 by Hajj Corporation,
• MVR 72،550 Thazkiya Private Limited,
• MVR 70،000 by Zaeema Group Private Limited,
• MVR 69،965 by Mina Hajj and Umra Private Limited,
• MVR 59،965 by Acro Umra Group and
• MVR 69،965 by Al-Haramain Hajj and Umra.

This year, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is to provide 2,000 pilgrimage quotas to the Maldives out of which 1,000 have already been provided.

Out of them, 550 were given to Hajj Corporation and 450 quotas to private pilgrimage groups, which makes it 90 quotas for every private company out of those eligible.

According to the calendar, Hajj falls on 10 August 2019.
