The management of Mookai Suites has revealed that their offices will take about a week to re-open, after being shut down following a fire that broke out in the building on Tuesday night.
An official from the hotel revealed that they are currently working to restore electricity in the building following the fire that was sparked after issues with cables on the first floor of the building.
On Wednesday morning, all the offices stationed in the 10-storey building where Mookai Suites is located was shut down. These offices include Hajj Corporation and the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) office.
Said offices will only be operational after electricity has been restored, revealed the official.
On Tuesday night, the hotel had been vacated due to the smoke bellowing following the fire. About an hour into the incident, smoke had stopped bellowing from the building.
A team from MNDF Fire and Rescue was able to quell the fire by 09:58, revealed MNDF. MNDF revealed that no injuries were reported.
