Ambassador of Maldives to Bangladesh, Aishath Shaan Shakir and Vice President Faisal Naseem have discussed ongoing priorities at the Maldivian Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

This was done during a courtesy call paid on VP Naseem by the Maldives Ambassador on Wednesday morning, at the President’s Office.

Some of the discussions revolved around consular issues surfacing for Maldivians residing in Bangladesh.

The pair also discussed the requirement to explore further avenues for further trade and cooperation the Maldives has with Bangladesh.

While both countries have held bilateral ties for a long time, foreign ministers of both countries, Abdulla Shahid from Maldives and AK Abdul Momen from Bangladesh had held discussions earlier in March.

During said meeting both ministers had discussed a way in which both countries may further enhance cooperation for each other’s mutual benefit as well as regional and international development.
