Following the decision to cancel his visit to Sri Lanka, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi opted to not travel to Maldives as well.
Qureshi was scheduled to visit the archipelago nation last Thursday, and travel to Sri Lanka the next day.
However, the trip was cancelled "in light of the security situation in Sri Lanka," following the terror attack on April 21.
A revised schedule for the minister's visit is to be released at a later date.
Nine suicide bombers carried out a series of blasts on Easter Sunday, killing over 250 people.
While Maldives has increased security measures following the attack in the neighboring country, authorities assure that there are no threats to the nation.
