Tourist drowns off Club Med Kanifinolhu
 
This is the 11th tourist death reported from the Maldives thus far this year

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has reported a tourist death in a local resort on Monday.

The tourist drowned in Club Med Kanifinolhu on Monday afternoon and was rushed to ADK Hospital in capital city Malé.

The man was a 52-year-old Singaporean who was vacationing in the Maldives.

Managing Director at the Hospital, Ahmed Affaal confirmed the death to RaajjeMV. Affaal went on to reveal that he had most probably been dead upon arrival and that he is now in the hospital’s mortuary.

This is the 11th tourist death reported from the Maldives thus far this year.

Maldives Police, the Ministry of Tourism and island councils are working to reinforce security and monitor beaches for the safety of all tourist since the sea incidents started snowballing.
