A pregnant woman has been injured in a road accident in capital city Malé’s suburban extension Hulhumale early Sunday.

Maldives Police Service revealed that the accident occurred close to 7am on Sunday and that the pregnant woman had attained cuts on her leg due to the collision that occurred between a car and a motorcycle.

The woman was immediately rushed to Hulhumale Hospital for treatment.

This comes at a time a similar accident on Saturday left a woman under observation at the Hulhumale Hospital for hours. Another accident was reported on Saturday night as well.

While there has been a recent hike in road accidents across capital city Malé and outlying islands, police have cautioned the public to be cautious and take necessary precautions to prevent such accidents that may harm and possibly take lives.
