No Maldivian casualties in Sri Lanka bombings, confirms Ambassador
The Ambassador assured that there have been no serious incidents regarding Maldivians

There have been no Maldivian casualties in the series of terror attacks in Sri Lanka, confirms Maldives Ambassador to Sri Lanka Omar Abdul Razzaq.

Speaking to RaajjeTV on Sunday evening, the Ambassador assured that Maldivians are able to contact their friends and family in Sri Lanka and that there have been no reports of any serious incidents.

Highlighting that the targeted hotels are frequently visited by Maldivians, Ambassador Razzaq said he has met with residents of the affected hotels and confirmed that there were no injured Maldivians, and that the reports publicized by the Sri Lankan also show no Maldivian casualties.

According to a statement released by the Sri Lankan foreign ministry, the number of foreign nationals who have been identified as deceased "stands at 11." It said that the fatalities are; three from India and the United Kingdom, two from Turkey, one from Portugal and two others holding US and UK nationalties. It added that nine foreigners are still missing, and that there are twenty five unidentified bodies.

Furthermore, state minister at the foreign ministry Ahmed Khaleel is currently in Colombo as President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's special envoy. Ambassador Razzaq stated that Khaleel is scheduled to meet Maldivian residents and Sri Lankan government officials, to convey assurance of Maldives’ support during the crisis.
