Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has controlled the fire that began in an empty lot in Hulhumale’ on Monday.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, the media officer stated that they extinguished the fire at 6:10pm.

The fire was reported at around 1:30pm and was reported to have started on the grass in empty lot between the Hulhumale’ ferry terminal and the central park.

A similar incident occurred last Wednesday when a fire incident was reported in ADh. Ariyadhoo, an uninhabited island.

MNDF statistics show that 86 fire incidents were reported in the last four months.
