Republic of France’s ambassador to the Maldives Eric Laverto has presented his credentials to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Ambassador Laverto met President Solih at the President’s Office in Malé on Sunday, and discussed bilateral ties between both nations.
The President’s Office says Ambassaor Laverto congratulated the Maldives on its recent parliamentary election being held ‘peacefully’, and conveyed his sense of ‘priviledge’ in representing France in the Maldives.
Ambassador Laverto is among three other ambassador-designates that presented their credentials to the Maldivian head of state on Sunday.
Ugandan Ambassador Grace Akello and Palestinian Ambassador Walid Abu Ali had also called on President Solih.
