The result for Fonadhoo constituency in the parliamentary election held on Saturday remains unaffected after recount.
The Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) recounted votes for the constituency’s ballot box with the most invalid votes.
While a total of 48 ballots were rejected in the constituency, the ballot box recounted on Wednesday had 13 rejected ballots.
Government coalition candidate Moosa Siraj won the Fonadhoo seat in Saturday’s election with a 44-vote lead, against opposition candidate, and incumbent MP Abdul Raheem Abdulla.
Siraj amassed 1,007 votes while MP Raheem amassed 963 votes.
