Police officers are active in quelling a fire that broke out in the woods of an uninhabited island in Alif Dhaal atoll.

The police media officer stated that the incident occurred close to 3pm on Wednesday and that a team of officers were dispatched to the scene immediately.

RaajjeMV understands that no injuries have been reported following the fire.

There has been an increase in reported fire-related incidents. Earlier this week a fire had broken out in a guesthouse in Mathiveri island, and earlier on Wednesday, a fire had left three floors of a house in Galolhu ward of capital city Malé heavily damaged.
