President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Vice President Faisal Naseem have cast their votes, in the first parliamentary elections since assuming office in November.
President Solih cast his vote for the Hinnavaru constituency while Vice President Faisal cast his vote for South-Fuvahmulah constituency. Both were lawmakers when they won last year's parliamentary elections.
Speaking to the press at the polling station, President Solih urged citizens to exercise their rights and come out to vote.
Vice President Faisal thanked the Elections Commission for a smooth and well-organized election.

Former presidents Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and Mohamed Nasheed have also cast their votes.
