The police service has arrested two under allegations of possession of alcohol.

Police had confiscated a large number of empty bottles suspected to have contained alcohol from a guesthouse in Mathiveri island of Alif Alif atoll.

On Monday, police raided the guesthouse under a court order following a tip-off and arrested an 18-year-old and a 38-year-old and confiscated over 70 bottles suspected to have contained alcohol.

The case is now under investigation.
