Elections Commission (EC) has stated that they will complete sending ballot boxes and the documents needed for the Parliamentary Elections on Tuesday.

Elections Commissioner Ahmed Shareef confirmed that the commission will complete the process on Tuesday.

EC also stated that they have printed a total of 267,159 ballot papers for this year’s parliamentary elections and will be placing 501 ballot boxes throughout the country and abroad, out of which 307 will be stationed in the Maldives.

144 ballot boxes will be stationed in Malé with 33 in resorts, five in prisons and eight abroad.

264،589 are eligible to vote in the elections and 386 candidates will be running for all 87 constituencies in the election on April 6.
