A Taiwanese tourist has died after fainting on board a safari, on Thursday.

Maldives Police Service said that they received the report of a female tourist collapsing while on a safari boat, near Alimatha Resort in Vaavu atoll, at around 12:30pm.

Noting that a team was immediately dispatched, police said that the woman was transferred to the Felidhoo health center.

She died while receiving treatment at Fulidhoo Health Center.
