Producers of ‘Ehenas’, a live-action adaptation of local writer Ahmed Iqbal’s popular narrative focusing on domestic violence, has released the first teaser for the web-series.

The novel follows the experiences of a long-term domestic abuse victim and how he faces the societal obstacles of marriage and life in the Maldives.

When released, Iqbal's novel 'Ehenas Loabiveyey', which loosely translates to 'love you, despite', has been commended for its despiction of domestic violence as experienced by a male.

A relatively new actor has been cast for the role and producer Ravi Farooq says about 40 percent of the production is now complete.

Ravi also says that several other new actors will be introduced in the two-part web series.

The main cast does include thespian veterans Sheila Najeeb and Mohamed Manik.

The series will be available for streaming on Baiskoafu in April.
