The police service has stated that eight suspects have been arrested over two major cases of robbery in capital city Male’.

They were arrested for robbing Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) and wholesaler BHM Traders.

The police stated that two men aged 19 and 23 were arrested for robbing a MIFCO van last Wednesday. The 23-year-old was arrested on Saturday and has been remanded for 15 days, and the 19-year-old was arrested on Saturday night.

Six men were arrested for robbing BHM Traders. They are two 23-year-olds, a 21-year-old, and three minors. They stole MVR 2.3 million from BHM Traders while wearing helmets to conceal their identity.
