The fire broke out on Monday evening.
Foreign Ministry’s media official Muivaan Mohamed said that 83 Maldivians were inside the building when the fire broke on the terrace.
Muivaan said that the fire caused the power to go out in the hotel but that everyone managed to escape unhurt. He also said that the Maldives consulate is discussing with the hotel management on bringing back power.
PG Plaza, which is four kilometers away from the Trivandrum airport, is a popular hotel with Maldivians.
