Maldives Police Service has arrested four individuals with drugs in an operation conducted on Tuesday night.

Arrested were four Maldivians aged 20, 22, 26 and 34.

Upon receiving an intelligence report, officers of Laamu Gan Police Station had conducted an operation and raided an oil tanker under a court order to conduct a search, when it docked at the harbor in Kalaidhoo island.

Seized were a packet and a film cannister suspected to contain narcotic substances.

In addition to this arrest, a 21-year-old was also arrested late Tuesday from Holhudhoo island of Noonu atoll.

Police had found 13 rubber packets suspected to contain narcotic substances upon searching the man.
