No polling places are to be set up in Bangladesh, Thailand, and the Indian city of New Delhi, for the upcoming parliamentary election, the Elections Commission has said.
The commission said on Wednesday that not enough people have registered to vote from these locations to warrant a polling place and station to be set up.
The commission also said that they will not be setting up polling places in six tourist resorts where stations have been placed in previous elections.
These resorts are: Soveva Fushi, Ayada Maldives, Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi, Amillafushi, Gili Lankanfushi, and Kiha Maldives.
Polling places are set up in countries, cities, atolls, and islands where over a 100 people register to vote from.
