Hassan Sobir has been appointed as Maldives’ Ambassador to Belgium, and Ambassador and Head of Mission to the European Union

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih presented him with the letter of credence at a ceremony at the President’s Office on Tuesday.

Hassan Sobir received Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of South Australia, Diploma in Economic Statistics from the United States and Bachelor of Commerce from India.

He previously held the positions of Maldives’ Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, Non-Resident Ambassador to the European Union, High Commissioner of Maldives to the United Kingdom and High Commissioner to the Republic of Singapore.
