MDP to cover cost of President Solih’s campaign trips
President Solih and former President Nasheed departed on Tuesday morning

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) stated that it will cover the cost of all the trips President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s takes for their parliamentary election campaign.
At a press conference on Tuesday, the main ruling party’s deputy secretary general Afshan Latheef said that President Solih and party leader Mohamed Nasheed will join MDP’s Guraidhoo candidate Adil Saleem’s campaign event on Tuesday night.
She said that this is the President’s first parliamentary election campaign trip and that MDP will be handling the food and accommodation.
President’s Office spokesperson Ibrahim Hood confirmed to RaajjeMV that President Solih will be heading to Guraidhoo for candidate Saleem’s campaign event and that MDP is to cover the cost.
President Solih and former President Nasheed departed on Tuesday morning, and Nasheed has visited Huraa and Maafushi on the way to Guraidhoo.
They will also be visiting Addu City on Friday.
